Today, Baku Nasimi Court dismissed the appeal of Rashadat Akhundov, the arrested activist of the NIDA youth movement, to change the measure of his restraint to house arrest.

According to activists of NIDA, marital status and illness of Akhundov were cited as reason for the appeal. However, the court rejected the request.

Akhundov was arrested on March 30 while leaving his home, and is charged with possession of explosives. On the same day, the court arrested him for three months, and in June his arrest was extended for another three months
